The 3M™ Cubitron™ II flap disc 967A measures 7" in diameter with a 5/8-11 internal thread and features 60 grit ceramic grain, classified as a type 29 wheel. It is designed for low to medium-high pressure applications on flat surfaces or outside edgework, making it particularly suitable for paint preparation and stainless steel fabrication where a final finish and gouge resistance are critical. The disc utilizes 3M precision-shaped grain technology that maintains super-sharp points for exceptionally fast cutting with less pressure. Engineered to run cooler, it reduces metal discoloration, oxidation, and the likelihood of heat-related stress cracks. The flap design allows grinding and blending in a single step, supported by a durable Y-weight poly-cotton backing that ensures controlled, even wear for full disc utilization under low to medium-high pressure conditions. A grinding aid incorporated into the disc helps minimize grinding temperatures on heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. Typical applications include edge beveling, edge chamfering, right angle grinding, as well as weld removal and finishing.
