The 3M™ Cubitron™ II flap disc 967A measures 4-1/2" in diameter with a 5/8-11 inch internal thread and features 80 grit ceramic grain on a type 27 wheel. It is designed for low to medium-high pressure applications on flat surfaces or outside edgework, particularly suited for paint preparation and stainless steel fabrication where a high-quality final finish and gouge resistance are critical. The disc uses 3M precision-shaped grain technology that maintains super-sharp points for exceptionally fast cutting with less pressure. Engineered to operate cooler, it reduces metal discoloration and oxidation as well as the risk of heat-related stress cracks. The flaps efficiently grind and blend in a single step, supported by a durable Y-weight poly-cotton backing that ensures controlled, even wear for full usage under these pressure conditions. A grinding aid incorporated in the disc further minimizes grinding temperatures, making it ideal for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. Typical applications include edge beveling, edge chamfering, right angle grinding, weld removal, and finishing.
