The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D is a heavy-duty 30" sanding disc with 36 grit aluminum oxide abrasive, designed for high heat and demanding sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that securely adheres to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient use and clean removal. The disc utilizes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, providing durability and stability under high heat and pressure conditions. Aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat deliver a fast cut rate ideal for grinding, dual action sanding (D/A), deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and various surfaces. The pressure-sensitive adhesive disc is meant to be pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately), compatible with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its toughness, self-fracturing property that exposes fresh edges during use, and suitability for woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. This sanding disc is applicable in metal fabrication, primary wood and panel processing, and provides a reliable solution for blending, deburring, flat area sanding, grinding, and orbital sanding tasks.
