The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Cut and Polish Unitized Wheel measures 2" x 1/4" x 1/4" and is constructed with CRS grit aluminum oxide as the abrasive mineral. This tightly layered, durable wheel is available in medium to hard densities and is designed for aggressive deburring, blending, and finishing on harder metals, particularly in applications that require portability. It serves as an effective replacement for conventional abrasive products such as rubber bonded wheels and small set-up wheels. The unitized wheel features aluminum oxide mineral combined with a tough nylon web, providing uniform results through a smooth-running, fast-cutting performance that resists loading and runs cool. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, low heat retention, and ability to self-fracture, exposing fresh cutting edges for long life; it is suitable for a wide variety of substrates including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The Scotch-Brite™ wheel's open-web, non-woven nylon or synthetic fiber construction incorporates abrasives that maintain consistent cutting performance by limiting clogging.
