The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a 1 1/2" diameter, 80 grit aluminum oxide heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that securely adheres to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. It includes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding, providing a fast cut for grinding and dual action sanding on metal surfaces. The disc employs aluminum oxide abrasive in a closed coat, known for its fast cut-rate, long life, self-fracturing cutting edges, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it effective on ferrous alloys and various materials in woodworking and metalworking. This PSA disc is designed for use with a backup pad (sold separately) on disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. It is ideal for applications such as blending, deburring, flat area sanding, grinding, and orbital sanding within metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
