The 3M™ Hookit™ film disc 360L 5" x NH P320 grit aluminum oxide features an aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a film backing designed for effective fine sanding on plastics, gel coats, and polyurethane solid surface substrates. The sturdy film backing provides durability suitable for high-production environments and offers excellent resistance to edge tearing, resulting in a longer life compared to discs with standard A-weight paper backings. Its film backing ensures a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it ideal for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer. The disc incorporates an open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating to help reduce loading. It includes a 3M™ Hookit™ hook-and-loop attachment on the backing, enabling easy reuse throughout the product's life and compatibility with the low-profile 3M™ Hookit™ disc pad (sold separately) designed for random orbital sanders. The film disc 360L is available in a range of grades from fine sanding to finishing. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its fast cut-rate, long life, and durability as it self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, outperforming traditional natural abrasives that dull more quickly. This mineral’s hardness and strength make it suitable for grinding and various sanding and finishing applications across woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The product line includes hook-and-loop style 3M™ Hookit™ discs intended for workspaces where adhesive-backed discs might be contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris, often preferred over more aggressive 3M™ Stikit™ discs. The 3M™ Hookit™ film disc 360L is backed by 3M’s limited warranty against defects in material or manufacture.
