The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D 3/4" x NH P120 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres securely to backup pads or steel platens for efficient applications and clean removal. It has a heat-resistant resin bond and a cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks. The disc contains aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a closed coat, providing a fast cut ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. This versatile disc is designed for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various shapes and sizes. The pressure-sensitive adhesive allows the disc to be pressed onto a backup pad, compatible with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its fast cut-rate, long life, hardness, strength, low heat retention, and ability to self-fracture to expose fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for a wide variety of materials, including ferrous alloys, in both woodworking and metalworking applications. The heat-resistant resin ensures the abrasive remains firmly bonded to the cloth backing even under high heat or pressure. Common applications include blending, deburring, working on flat areas, grinding, orbital sanding, and random orbital sanding within metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
