The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a 1 1/2" diameter, 60 grit aluminum oxide heavy-duty sanding disc designed for use with a backup pad or steel platen, sold separately, on disc sanders including random orbital and stationary disc sanders. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for efficient application and clean removal, a heat-resistant resin bond, and a cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks. The aluminum oxide particles are arranged in a closed coat pattern, providing a fast cut rate ideal for grinding, deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The abrasive self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, offering long life and suitability for both woodworking and metalworking applications, including ferrous alloys. Its heat-resistant resin bond maintains stability under high heat or pressure. Typical applications include blending, deburring, flat areas, grinding, and orbital or random orbital sanding in metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
