The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 967A measures 4-1/2" x 7/8" and features an 80 grit ceramic grain type 29 wheel, designed for low to medium-high pressure applications on flat surfaces or outside edgework. This flap disc is particularly effective in paint preparation and stainless steel fabrication, where achieving a final finish and gouge resistance is critical. The 3M precision shaped grain technology ensures super-sharp points that provide exceptionally fast cutting with less pressure, while also being engineered to operate cooler, thereby reducing the risk of metal discoloration, oxidation, and heat-related stress cracks. The flaps are designed to grind and blend materials in a single step, and the durable Y-weight poly-cotton backing ensures controlled, even wear for extensive use in low to medium-high pressure applications. Additionally, the incorporated grinding aid reduces temperatures during operation, making it suitable for grinding heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. Common applications for this product include edge beveling, edge chamfering, right angle grinding, and weld removal and finishing.
