The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ light deburring wheel measures 12" x 1" x 5" with fin 7s grit silicon carbide abrasive, featuring a smooth-running, convolute-constructed design for light deburring, polishing, and finishing. This wheel's soft construction and smooth operation require less effort compared to harder wheels and provide moderate conformability and density to maintain critical tolerances while achieving a fine polished finish. Its unique resin system minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, while the non-woven web construction resists loading, runs cool, and extends wheel life by reducing part discoloration and warping. The abrasive is fine grade silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral that is sharp and suitable for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation, breaking down faster than aluminum oxide but producing a superior finish. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating an abrasive system that consistently performs throughout the product's life by limiting clogging of fibers with its open-web material. This wheel is suitable for deburring, finishing, and polishing applications in builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
