The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Light Deburring Wheel measures 12" x 1" x 5" with a fin width of 6s and features fine grade silicon carbide abrasive. This smooth-running, convolute-constructed wheel is designed for light deburring, polishing, and finishing, offering a soft construction that requires less operator effort compared to harder wheels. It provides a moderate degree of conformability and density to maintain critical tolerances while delivering a fine polished finish. The wheel incorporates a unique resin system that minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, enabling cool operation and resistance to loading due to its non-woven web construction, which helps prevent part discoloration and warping while extending wheel life. The synthetic silicon carbide abrasive is sharp and preferred for low-pressure tasks such as paint preparation, producing a superior finish despite breaking down faster than aluminum oxide.
