The 3M™ Wetordry™ Paper Disc 431Q measures 12 inches in diameter with NH attachment and features 180 grit silicon carbide abrasive for extra-fast cutting on a strong, waterproof paper backing designed for superior finishing in both wet and dry applications across various substrates. The discs are used with water to rinse dust and debris from the workpiece and abrasive surface, reducing clogging and airborne dust while enabling faster cutting. They are ideal for surfaces that generate a lot of dust, including paint, primer, and wood, and can also be used dry for finishing metal and gel coats. The pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing offers secure attachment to random orbital sanders and is suitable for high heat and severe disc sanding applications. Silicon carbide, known for its hardness and ability to fracture to expose sharp edges, cuts extra fast and provides a smooth, professional finish but wears faster than aluminum oxide. The 3M proprietary durable waterproof paper backing is lighter and smoother than cloth, making it preferable for lighter applications such as finishing and paint preparation. Convenient liners protect the adhesive backing from contamination prior to use.
