The 3M™ Wetordry™ paper disc 431Q measures 12" in diameter with a NH (non-hole) design and features 400 grit silicon carbide abrasive for extra-fast cutting on a strong, waterproof paper backing suitable for both wet and dry applications. The silicon carbide mineral is very hard and fractures easily, creating freshly exposed sharp edges that provide a fast cut and a smooth, professional finish. Designed for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing on wood, metal, and gel coats, these discs perform well on surfaces generating significant dust such as paint and primer. The proprietary durable waterproof paper backing is lighter and smoother than cloth, optimized for lighter finishing tasks, while the use of water during sanding helps rinse away dust and debris, reducing clogging and airborne dust. The pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing allows easy attachment to a random orbital sander and is suitable for high heat and severe disc sanding conditions.
