The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ metal finishing wheel measures 6" x 2" x 1" and features CRS 5A grit aluminum oxide abrasive designed for metal finishing applications. The wheel combines conformability with consistent abrasive cutting action to provide uniform brushed stainless and satin finishes, effectively blending and matching #3 or #4 mill finishes on stainless steel. It is suitable for creating brushed or satin finishes on cutlery, appliance trim, builders hardware, and plumbing fixtures. On softer metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass, this wheel blends minor surface imperfections and handling marks while providing decorative finishes. Typically used on stationary machinery, the wheel is convolutedly wound on a core for smooth operation and professional results, available in diameters from 6 to 16 inches and widths starting at 1/2 inch. The aluminum oxide abrasive provides a high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, suitable for a wide variety of substrates in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives feature abrasives embedded in non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, forming an abrasive system that delivers consistent performance throughout the product's life. Its open-web material runs cool and resists loading, maintaining high abrasive performance by limiting clogging.
