The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EX2 Deburring Wheel measures 6" x 1/2" x 1" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This convolute-constructed wheel offers mid-range aggressiveness and hardness, ideal for deburring, edge radius, blending, polishing, and finishing. It performs best on sharp edges or metal burrs, combining mineral aggressiveness with density for moderate conformability, wheel hardness, and edge retention. The wheel incorporates a unique resin system that minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, while its open-web construction enables it to run cool, resist loading, and reduce the risk of part discoloration and warping, thereby extending wheel life. Available in fine and medium abrasive grades, the EX2 wheel is offered with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasives. Silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral, is suitable for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish but breaking down faster, whereas aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral providing a high cut rate and long life. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives embed abrasive minerals into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating a consistent abrasive system that limits clogging to maintain high performance for the product’s lifespan. Applications include blending, deburring, finishing, flat finishing, and polishing of builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, and plumbing fixtures.
