The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Disc measures 7 inches in diameter with a NH (non-hex) attachment and features very fine (VFN) grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This disc is constructed from durable non-woven fiber material that conforms well to irregular or contoured surfaces without causing undercutting or damage to the base material. The open-web design runs cool and resists loading, enabling prolonged operation while evenly distributing the aluminum oxide abrasives to produce a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. Aluminum oxide is a tough, long-lasting abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges during use, making it ideal for grinding, sanding, and finishing on a variety of substrates including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking applications. The abrasive fibers combined with the open-web nylon or synthetic fibers ensure consistent performance by preventing clogging and maintaining cutting efficiency. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, light grinding, rust removal, and weld cleaning, serving industries such as aerospace, general industrial, metalworking, MRO, and transportation and heavy equipment.
