The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Disc measures 8" x 1/2" with medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. These discs combine conformable material and abrasive minerals to effectively blend, clean, and polish a wide variety of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, wood, and fiberglass, producing a clean, consistent finish without undercutting or damaging the base material. The disc is flexible, allowing it to reach hard-to-access areas, and is suitable for finishing, paint preparation, surface blending, scuffing, contour finishing, and lacquer sanding applications. The abrasive mineral effectively blends, finishes, and polishes metals, composites, and advanced surfaces, serving as an effective abrasive tool for paint prep, scuffing, and light corrosion removal. The disc runs cool and resists loading, ensuring consistent conditioning throughout its life. Scotch-Brite™ clean and finish discs are available with silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral suitable for low-pressure applications like paint prep and finishing, aluminum oxide offers high cut-rate and long life, while talc provides mild abrasion for satin finishes or high gloss finishes when used with polish. The discs feature an open-web non-woven nylon or synthetic fiber matrix that incorporates abrasives, creating a consistent abrasive system for the life of the product.
