The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Disc measures 6 inches in diameter by 1/2 inch thickness with a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral designed to effectively blend, clean, and polish surfaces on aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, wood, and fiberglass, producing a clean, consistent finish without undercutting or damaging the base material. The disc is flexible to access hard-to-reach areas, making it suitable for finishing, paint preparation, surface blending, scuffing, contour finishing, and lacquer sanding applications. It runs cool and resists loading, maintaining consistent conditioning properties throughout its life. The abrasive mineral options include silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc; aluminum oxide offers a hard, blocky mineral that provides a high cut-rate and long life, while silicon carbide is sharp and suited for low-pressure paint prep producing a finer finish, and talc serves as a mild abrasive for satin or high gloss finishes. The Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Discs combine abrasives with non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers in an open-web material that runs cool and offers consistent results over the product life.
