The 3M™ Trizact™ Hookit™ Film Disc 268XA measures 5 inches in diameter with a NH (no hole) configuration and features A5 grit composed of aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. Manufactured using proprietary micro-replication technology, micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into tiny pyramids on a film backing, allowing fresh abrasive mineral to be continuously exposed as it wears, producing a consistent cut and fine finish. This disc is designed for use on a variety of solid surfaces and topcoats, accommodating most finish and process requirements. It incorporates the 3M™ Hookit™ attachment system for quick mounting and secure attachment to hook-and-loop backup disc pads (sold separately) compatible with rotary or random orbital tools. The disc can be used wet or dry and is engineered to maintain sharpness over time, providing predictable finishes, more consistent quality, and longer life than conventional abrasives. Its three-dimensional abrasive structures are uniformly distributed to ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. This film disc allows operators to reduce grade sequences, requiring fewer process steps and abrasive products, and features the toughness and durability of aluminum oxide mineral for enhanced cut rate and longevity.
