The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL Deburring Wheel measures 12" x 1" x 5" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It has a hard, dense consistency designed to quickly deburr, finish, and polish all types of metals, composites, and glass while leaving a smooth, clean surface. Its conformable nature makes it ideal for deburring stamped or laser-cut parts and for finishing after belt sanding. The wheel’s convolute construction ensures clean, uniform wear, running smoothly to help operators achieve a professional finish while minimizing fatigue. Scotch-Brite™ material runs cool, providing uniform wear and continuously exposing fresh abrasives, which makes it suitable for heat-sensitive substrates. The wheel’s toughness extends its service life. It is available with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasives; silicon carbide is sharp and suited for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, while aluminum oxide offers a high cut rate and longer life. The product incorporates abrasives in non-woven nylon fibers, creating a load-resistant open-web material that limits clogging and maintains high-performance cutting.
