The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Disc measures 5" in diameter with a NH CRS grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It features a durable, non-woven fiber construction that conforms well to irregular or contoured surfaces without undercutting or damaging the base material. The open-web material runs cool and resists loading, enabling prolonged operation while the evenly distributed aluminum oxide abrasives produce a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. Aluminum oxide, known for its toughness, durability, and ability to self-fracture to expose fresh cutting edges, provides a long life and is widely used in grinding, sanding, and finishing across diverse substrates including ferrous alloys. The disc’s abrasive system combines these abrasives with nylon or synthetic fibers to ensure consistent performance throughout its life.
