The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Metal Finishing Wheel measures 8" x 1" x 3" with CRS grit aluminum oxide abrasive, combining conformability with consistent abrasive cutting action to provide uniform brushed stainless and satin finishes. It is used to blend and match #3 or #4 mill finishes on stainless steel and create brushed or satin finishes on cutlery, appliance trim, builders hardware, and plumbing fixtures. On softer metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass, it blends out minor surface imperfections and handling marks while delivering the desired decorative finish. The wheel is convolutedly wound on a core for smooth running and professional finishing results, typically used on stationary machinery. Available in diameters ranging from 6 to 16 inches and widths of 1/2 inch and greater, it is offered in grades CRS and medium. The aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing a variety of substrates including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. Scotch-Brite™ Industrial Abrasives feature abrasives embedded in non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating a system that lasts consistently throughout the product's life. The open-web material runs cool and resists loading, maintaining high cutting performance by limiting clogging.
