The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EX2 Deburring Wheel measures 8" x 1/2" x 3" and features medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This convolute-constructed wheel provides mid-range aggressiveness and hardness suitable for deburring, edge radius, blending, polishing, and finishing. It is designed to perform best when consistently presented with a sharp edge or metal burrs. The combination of mineral aggressiveness and density hardness makes this wheel ideal for applications requiring a moderate degree of conformability, wheel hardness, and edge retention. A unique resin system helps minimize smearing and reduces heat buildup, while its open-web construction runs cool and resists loading, thereby reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping, extending the wheel's life. The EX2 wheel is available in fine and medium grade abrasives with options for silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive mineral; silicon carbide is sharp and suited for low-pressure applications like paint prep and finishing, while aluminum oxide offers a high cut rate and long life with a coarser finish. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating a system that delivers consistent results throughout the product life. The open-web material ensures the wheel runs cool and is resistant to loading, maintaining high-performance cutting by limiting fiber clogging. This product is used for blending, deburring, finishing, flat finishing, and polishing in applications such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, and plumbing fixtures.
