The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Cut and Polish Unitized Wheel measures 3" x 1/2" x 3/8" and features medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral embedded in a tightly layered, durable, unitized wheel constructed from tough nylon web. Designed for aggressive deburring, blending, and finishing on harder metals, this wheel is suitable for applications requiring portability and small diameters with narrow widths. It provides an excellent alternative to conventional abrasive products such as rubber bonded wheels and small set-up wheels. The aluminum oxide mineral is chosen for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, exhibiting self-fracturing properties that expose fresh cutting edges, making it effective on a wide range of substrates including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The tightly layered unitized construction ensures a smooth running, fast cutting wheel that runs cool and resists loading. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives combine abrasives with a non-woven nylon or synthetic fiber open-web material, providing consistent performance, load resistance, and cool running characteristics that minimize clogging and maintain high cutting performance throughout the product’s life.
