The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Cut and Polish Unitized Wheel measures 3" x 1/2" x 1/4" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It is a tightly layered, durable unitized wheel offered in medium to hard densities, designed for aggressive deburring, blending, and finishing on harder metals, especially where portability is required. This wheel serves as a replacement for many conventional abrasive products such as rubber bonded wheels and small set-up wheels. The wheel’s construction combines aluminum oxide mineral with a tough nylon web, resulting in uniform performance, smooth running, fast cutting, cool operation, and resistance to loading. Aluminum oxide, chosen for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and ability to self-fracture exposing fresh cutting edges, is suitable for a broad range of substrates including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The Scotch-Brite™ product incorporates abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, forming a surface conditioning abrasive system that maintains consistent performance over the product’s life. The open-web material is load-resistant and runs cool, minimizing clogging and enhancing cutting efficiency.
