The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 2" x 1/4" x 1/4" and is made with CRS grit aluminum oxide. It features a soft, conformable consistency designed to effectively smooth, deburr, and finish the edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Available in a variety of densities and grades, ranging from a very soft 2 density for high conformability to a hard, aggressive 8 density for maximum cut and durability, the wheel provides a clean edge without smearing, reducing the need for additional cleanup and preparation. Optimized for use on a die grinder, the EXL unitized wheel minimizes heat buildup during operation, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. Filled with abrasive minerals, it quickly smooths edges and is obtainable with aluminum oxide in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, as well as silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. The product incorporates abrasives into non-woven nylon fibers, creating a consistent abrasive system with an open-web material that resists loading and limits clogging of fibers. Typical applications include blending and deburring, serving industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
