The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL Unitized Wheel measures 1" x 1/4" x 1/8" and features a fine grit silicon carbide abrasive. It offers a soft, conformable consistency designed to effectively smooth, deburr, and finish the edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Available in a range of densities from 2 for high conformability to 8 for maximum cut and durability, the unitized wheel provides a clean edge without smearing, thereby reducing the need for additional cleanup. Optimized for die grinder use, it minimizes heat buildup, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. The wheel incorporates abrasive minerals embedded in non-woven nylon fibers, creating a load-resistant, open-web material that limits clogging and maintains consistent cutting performance. The EXL Unitized Wheel is offered with aluminum oxide abrasives in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, along with silicon carbide abrasives in very fine and fine grades. Typical applications include blending and deburring, and it is widely used in industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
