Scotch-Brite™ EX2 deburring wheel is a convolute-constructed wheel designed to provide mid-range aggressiveness and hardness for a variety of applications including deburring, edge radius, blending, polishing, and finishing. This deburring wheel is optimized for performance when consistently faced with sharp edges or metal burrs. Its high-performance combination of mineral (aggressiveness) and density (hardness) makes the Scotch-Brite™ EX2 uniquely suited for applications that require a moderate degree of conformability, wheel hardness, and edge retention. A unique resin system minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, allowing the EX2 deburring wheel to run cool and resist loading due to its open-web construction, which in turn reduces the risk of part discoloration and warping while extending the wheel's lifespan. The EX2 is offered in fine and medium grade abrasives, available with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide mineral options. Silicon carbide is characterized as a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing, whereas aluminum oxide is a durable, blocky mineral that provides a high cut rate and long life, with silicon carbide yielding a finer finish despite its faster breakdown. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives are unique surface conditioning products that integrate abrasives with non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, enabling consistent performance throughout the product's life. The open-web material minimizes clogging of the fibers, maintaining high-performance cutting.
