The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning disc measures 5 inches in diameter with a NH med grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This heavy-duty disc features a non-woven fiber construction that conforms to irregular or contoured surfaces while preserving edges, and attaches efficiently via a hook and loop system. The disc uses aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its high cut-rate, durability, self-fracturing properties, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing applications across woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives integrate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, providing consistent performance and resistance to clogging thanks to their open-web design, which runs cool and maintains cutting efficiency. The disc is applied in blending, deburring, flat area applications, light grinding, parting line removal, plate grinding, metal prep prior to painting, right angle grinding, sheet grinding, and weld removal in metal fabrication industries.
