The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D measures 1/2" with NH and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive designed for heavy-duty sanding. It includes a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that securely adheres to a backup pad or steel platen, allowing efficient application and clean removal. The disc incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and a cloth backing, making it suitable for high-heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The aluminum oxide particles are arranged in a closed coat configuration, providing fast cutting action ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. This versatile sanding disc offers efficient deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing of metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The PSA disc is intended for use pressed onto a backup pad, which is sold separately and attached to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide is a durable mineral that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges during use, ensuring longevity and a fast cut-rate, making it favored for metalworking and woodworking, including work with ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin bonding agent maintains abrasive stability under high heat or pressure. Typical applications include blending, deburring, flat area sanding, grinding, orbital sanding, and random orbital sanding, primarily in metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
