The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D is a 6" diameter, P240 grit aluminum oxide sanding disc designed for heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that securely adheres to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient use and clean removal. The disc includes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and demanding sanding tasks. The aluminum oxide abrasive is in a closed coat configuration, providing fast cutting performance for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal surfaces. This versatile disc is ideal for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts of various sizes and shapes. It is compatible with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders when pressed onto a separate backup pad. Aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its fast cut rate, hardness, strength, and durability, self-fracturing to expose fresh edges during use, which extends the disc's life compared to traditional abrasives like garnet.
