The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a 3" x NH P180 grit heavy-duty sanding disc designed for efficient grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal surfaces. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that securely attaches to a backup pad or steel platen for clean removal, and a heat-resistant resin bond combined with a cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The disc uses aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a closed coat, providing a fast cut rate and long life by self-fracturing to expose fresh cutting edges, ideal for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts of various sizes and shapes. The disc is intended for use on disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders with separately sold backup pads. Aluminum oxide is known for hardness, strength, low heat retention, and suitability for both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin securely bonds the abrasive to the backing and maintains stability under high heat and pressure. Typical applications include blending, deburring, grinding, and sanding in metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
