The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Cross Buff 1-1/2" x 1/2" VFN Grit Aluminum Oxide is designed to polish, clean, satin finish, denib, and defuzz the interior diameters of metal components such as lifter bores, valve bodies, valve spools, and tubing. The nylon web's conformability makes it effective for removing surface oxidation, rust, and corrosion on dies and molds before coating and polishing. Featuring a 2-ply staggered design, this abrasive delivers consistent results even in hard-to-reach locations, unique profiles, and interior contours. The purple cleaning and polishing tool incorporates aluminum oxide abrasive, known for producing a high luster finish, and valued for its high cut-rate, long life, toughness, durability, self-fracturing ability to expose fresh cutting edges, and low heat retention, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing applications on a variety of substrates including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ combines abrasives into non-woven fibers to form an abrasive system that delivers consistent performance over the life of the product, with an open-web material that is load-resistant and reduces clogging.
