The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a heavy-duty 3" diameter sanding disc with NH (non-hole) design and P240 grit aluminum oxide abrasive, featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. It incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications including grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. The closed coat aluminum oxide abrasive offers fast cutting for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. This disc is designed to be pressed onto a backup disc pad (sold separately) attached to disc sanders such as random orbital or stationary models. Aluminum oxide provides a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures during use to expose fresh cutting edges, ensuring long life and high cut-rate, and is ideal for a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin bond maintains stability of the abrasive adhesion under high heat or pressure conditions. Typical applications include blending, deburring, grinding, and sanding flat areas mainly in metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
