The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Light Deburring Wheel measures 6" x 2" x 1" and features a fine grit silicon carbide abrasive, designed for light deburring, polishing, and finishing applications. This smooth running, convolute-constructed wheel has a soft construction that allows for less operator effort compared to harder wheels. It offers a moderate degree of conformability and density to maintain critical tolerances while delivering a fine polished finish. The wheel incorporates a unique resin system to minimize smearing and reduce heat buildup, running cool and resisting loading due to its non-woven web construction, which also helps prevent part discoloration and warping while extending wheel life. Made from fine grade silicon carbide—an abrasive mineral known for sharpness and ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation—this wheel provides a superior finish despite breaking down faster than aluminum oxide. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives uniquely combine abrasives with non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers to ensure consistent results throughout the product's life. The open-web material of the wheel enhances cooling and load resistance by limiting fiber clogging, keeping abrasive minerals cutting at high performance.
