The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a 12" diameter, P180 grit aluminum oxide sanding disc designed for heavy-duty applications, featuring a high-strength pressure sensitive adhesive backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient use and clean removal. Its heat-resistant resin bond and durable cloth backing enable the disc to withstand high heat and heavy sanding tasks, making it suitable for grinding, dual action (D/A) sanding, blending, deburring, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. This closed coat disc employs aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its fast cut rate, long life, and self-fracturing properties that expose fresh cutting edges, outperforming traditional abrasives like garnet. The disc is compatible with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, and stationary disc sanders when mounted on a disc pad (sold separately). Aluminum oxide's hardness, strength, and low heat retention make it versatile for woodworking and metalworking, including on ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin binder ensures the abrasive remains securely bonded under conditions of high heat and pressure.
