3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed with a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that allows for efficient application and clean removal when adhered to a backup pad or steel platen. This disc features a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The closed coat of aluminum oxide particles provides a fast cut, making it ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. The versatility of this disc makes it effective for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The PSA disc is pressed onto a backup pad, which is sold separately and can be attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its fast cut-rate and long life, offering a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to reveal fresh cutting edges during use.
