3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D is a heavy-duty sanding disc that features a high-strength pressure sensitive adhesive backing, allowing for efficient application and clean removal when adhered to a backup pad or a steel platen. Designed for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications, this disc utilizes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing. The closed coat of aluminum oxide particles ensures a fast cut for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal, making it suitable for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The PSA disc is pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately) that connects to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander. Chosen for its fast cut-rate and long life, the aluminum oxide abrasive is durable, self-fracturing to reveal fresh cutting edges during use, unlike traditional abrasives like garnet which wear down quickly. This mineral is effective in various grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing, and is compatible with a wide range of materials used in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
