The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 967A measures 7" x 7/8" and features an 80 grit ceramic grain Type 29 wheel designed for low to medium-high pressure applications on flat surfaces or outside edgework, particularly in paint preparation and stainless steel fabrication where final finish and gouge resistance are critical. The disc utilizes 3M precision-shaped grain that maintains super-sharp points for exceptionally fast cutting with less pressure, and it is engineered to run cooler to reduce metal discoloration, oxidation, and heat-related stress cracks. The flap design enables grinding and blending in a single step, supported by a durable Y-weight poly-cotton backing that delivers controlled, even wear for full use under low to medium-high pressure conditions. A grinding aid incorporated into the disc minimizes grinding temperatures for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. Typical applications include edge beveling, edge chamfering, right angle grinding, weld removal, and finishing.
