The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL Unitized Wheel measures 2" x 1/2" x 1/4" and features a fine grit silicon carbide abrasive embedded in non-woven nylon fibers for consistent surface conditioning. Designed with a soft, conformable consistency, this wheel effectively smoothes, deburrs, and finishes edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Available in various densities ranging from very soft 2 density for flexible applications to aggressive 8 density for maximum cut and durability, it provides a clean edge without smearing, reducing the need for additional cleanup. Optimized for die grinder use, it minimizes heat buildup, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. The unitized wheel is available with aluminum oxide abrasives in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, and silicon carbide abrasives in very fine and fine grades. The open-web, load-resistant material limits clogging and maintains high abrasive performance throughout the product's life. Typical applications include blending and deburring, serving industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
