The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 2" x 1/8" x 3/16" and is made with CRS grit aluminum oxide. It features a soft, conformable consistency that effectively smoothes, deburrs, and finishes the edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Available in a variety of densities and grades, ranging from a very soft 2 density for conformability to a hard, aggressive 8 density for maximum cut and durability, this unitized wheel provides a clean edge without smearing, reducing the need for additional cleanup and preparation. Designed for optimal performance on a die grinder, the EXL unitized wheel minimizes heat buildup during operation, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. Filled with abrasive minerals, it quickly smooths edges of metal, plastic, and composites and is available in aluminum oxide grades including fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse, as well as silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. The Scotch-Brite™ product combines abrasives with non-woven nylon fibers in an open-web material that is load resistant and limits clogging, ensuring consistent cutting performance throughout the product's life. Typical applications include blending and deburring, serving industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
