The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D 9" x NH P120 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and demanding sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that securely adheres to a backup pad or steel platen, allowing for efficient application and clean removal. The disc utilizes a heat-resistant resin bond combined with a durable cloth backing, making it suitable for heavy-duty sanding tasks. The aluminum oxide abrasive is in a closed coat configuration, providing a fast cut ideal for grinding and dual action sanding on metal surfaces. This versatile disc is effective for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts of various sizes and shapes. The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing must be pressed onto a backup pad, which is sold separately and attaches to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide is selected for its fast cut rate, toughness, long life, and ability to self-fracture, exposing fresh cutting edges during use, making it suitable for woodworking and metalworking applications, including ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin ensures the abrasive remains firmly bonded to the cloth backing under high heat or pressure.
