3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D 18" x NH 80 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed with a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for secure attachment to a backup pad or steel platen, ensuring efficient application and clean removal. It features a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks. The disc is coated with aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat pattern, providing a fast cut ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. This versatile sanding disc enables deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing of metal parts and surfaces with various sizes and shapes. The pressure-sensitive adhesive disc is intended to be pressed onto a backup pad, which is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander. Aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its fast cut-rate, long life, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for woodworking, metalworking, and ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin secures the abrasive to the cloth backing, maintaining bond stability under elevated heat and pressure conditions.
