The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ High Strength Disc, measuring 8" x 1/2" with very fine (VFN) grit silicon carbide, is a general-purpose abrasive disc made from a durable, tough non-woven open-web nylon fiber construction designed to clean, deburr, denib/defuzz, and achieve satin finishes. This high strength disc features a load-resistant open-web design that runs cool during use, maintaining consistent abrasive cutting performance throughout its lifespan. Its conformability allows it to work effectively on irregular surfaces and tight areas without damaging the base material. The disc can be used individually or stacked on straight shaft tools or bench motors to condition larger surfaces such as bar grates, louvers, vents, and tracks. Scotch-Brite™ integrates abrasives into nylon fibers to create a surface conditioning product that resists clogging and maintains high performance. It is suitable for applications including cleaning, coating removal, contour finishing, deburring, finishing, and weld cleaning across industries like aerospace, general industrial, metalworking, maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), transportation, and heavy equipment.
