The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D is a 15" diameter, 80 grit aluminum oxide heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. The disc includes a heat-resistant resin bond and a cloth backing that provide durability and stability under conditions of heat and pressure. The abrasive is composed of aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat, offering a fast cut-rate ideal for grinding and dual action sanding on metal. This disc is versatile for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its toughness, durability, and self-fracturing properties which expose fresh cutting edges during use, suitable for both woodworking and metalworking including ferrous alloys. The disc is designed to be pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately) used with disc sanders such as disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Applications include blending, deburring, grinding, orbital sanding, random orbital sanding, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing.
