The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D 20" x NH 60 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure sensitive adhesive backing that adheres to a backup pad or steel platen, providing efficient application and clean removal. The disc includes aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a closed coat for fast cutting, suitable for grinding and dual action sanding on metal. It has a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing that maintain bond stability under high heat and pressure. This sanding disc is ideal for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. It is compatible with a backup pad (sold separately) used with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its fast cut-rate, hardness, strength, low heat retention, and self-fracturing characteristic, making it suitable for woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin acts as a strong binding agent for the abrasive to the backing. Typical applications include blending, deburring, working on flat areas, grinding, orbital sanding, random orbital sanding, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing, serving industries such as metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing.
