The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D measures 8 inches in diameter with an NH 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive designed for heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for secure attachment to a backup pad or steel platen, enabling efficient use on disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders; note that the backup pad is sold separately. The disc utilizes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, which allow it to withstand high heat and heavy pressure during sanding. The aluminum oxide abrasive is in a closed coat, providing a fast cut ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. This durable abrasive mineral self-fractures to expose fresh edges for consistent performance and is suitable for various materials including ferrous alloys used in woodworking and metalworking.
