The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D 16" x NH 36 Grit Aluminum Oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen, enabling efficient application and clean removal. The disc employs a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, ensuring durability and stability under high heat and pressure conditions. The abrasive is made from aluminum oxide particles arranged in a closed coat, offering a fast cut suitable for grinding and dual action sanding on metal. This versatile disc is effective for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The aluminum oxide mineral self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, providing a fast cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it ideal for grinding, sanding, and finishing both woodworking and metalworking materials, including ferrous alloys. The disc is designed to be pressed onto a separately sold backup pad attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander. Applications include blending, deburring, working on flat areas, grinding, orbital sanding, random orbital sanding, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing industries.
