3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D 3" x NH 36 Grit Aluminum Oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. It is constructed with a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The disc uses aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a closed coat configuration, providing a fast cut for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal surfaces. This versatile disc is designed for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. It is applied by pressing the PSA disc onto a separately sold backup pad attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander. The aluminum oxide mineral provides fast cut-rate, long life, self-fracturing to expose fresh cutting edges, and is widely used in grinding as well as sanding and finishing applications, suitable for woodworking and metalworking including ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin serves as a sturdy binding agent, maintaining bond stability under high heat or pressure. Typical applications include blending, deburring, working on flat areas, grinding, orbital and random orbital sanding for metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
