3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high-performance applications, featuring a high-strength pressure sensitive adhesive backing that ensures secure adhesion to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. This disc includes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding tasks. It utilizes aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat, providing a fast cut for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. The versatile design allows for effective deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing of metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The PSA disc is designed to be pressed onto a backup pad, which is sold separately, and can be used with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide is favored by industrial professionals for its fast cut-rate and long life, as it self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges during use, outperforming traditional abrasives such as garnet.
